Caverns of Dwarovar

The Caverns of Dwarovar are two vast and wide tunnel systems shaped by the Dwarves of the Region of Dwarovar.   The southwestern caverns are much smaller than the main tunnels. These are often called the Southwestern Caverns of Dwarovar to differentiate them from the rest. Ever since the disappearance of its settlements they've been mostly occupied by various monsters.

Geography

It's a large cavern system dug inside and underneath the Mountains of Dwarovar. It has several gates built, called hols:   The cavern system also has unusual entrances, for example Mouth of Dwarovar and a hole through Dragon's Den, and the many Stairs of Dwarovar.   It also connects to the Underdark of Dwarovar, via the Irongate.

History

The Caverns of Dwarovar were the first home of Dali that escaped from the Surface. The underground meant safety from monsters and Leviathans, although there's always a few monsters that managed to find the entrances and sneak through the gates.   Many say the base of the wide tunnels and caverns have been dug by one of the Leviathans: Haaiz. However the proud Dwarves tend to disagree with this theory and claim that they have dug out most of it.   In 625 AoL, the Sunchaser has reached into the caverns, collapsing a large section of it (that of between Mortír and Sunchaser's Hands) parting it into two. The southern isolated segment of the caverns got its own name if one were to try to differentiate them, which is the Southwestern Caverns of Dwarovar.
