Drovvin

The ancient city of Stone. One of, if not, the oldest of cities throughout Cytal. Known as the birthplace of mining and enchantment. Sitting high in the dual peaks of Aradonna, the city watches over the mountains and provide the land of Cytal with essential materials such as metals, gemstones and stone for construction. A stronghold that not even the Cytal Civil War could breach, which was made apparent during the Battle of Drovvin.   As the city is so old, so are the family who rule it, The Drovvin Royal Family. Currently made up of King Mazri and Queen Efyne who rule with strong traditions but have adapted to the present day. The beings of Drovvin are extremely loyal, with most agreeing the Royal Family are fair in judgement, kind to their people and protect the city at all costs.   Due to the harsh conditions in the mountains, the beings of Drovvin have become some of the most fierce and hardened warriors known in the magic realm. And their loyalty leads them to be hard working and dedicated to whatever they venture into. This is probably why they have become so good at mining, blacksmithing and mechanical tinkering. The city is not known as being densely populated with Sorcerers like most other cites. Instead the population is made up largely of Minaurans, Stone Alum and Marubell but the city does not hold strong opinions against any one particular species.   The city is built with strong, built with solid stone bricks covered in warding and tinted with blue and purple from the rocks of the Aradonna peaks. The outer city is normally covered in layers of frost and snow but the inner city is full of mechanical wonders. Filling up the cavernous landscape with pipelines, mine-cart tracks and rope lifts.   Whilst Drovvin is known across Cytal for its mines of stone, gemstones and metals it also has the infrastructure to harvest more uncommon materials like lightning and ice. They use this gathering of materials and labour from the blacksmiths to trade more rarer items on the mountains such as wood, food and herbs.   With such a long history in the realm of magic, the guilds and factions of Drovvin also come with a large amount of experience. From Travelhea's and Emdon's Mining groups to the lightning farmers known as Storm Catchers. In more recent times groups like Snow Bankers (Ice Market Merchants) and Tinker Tappers (Mechanical Engineers) have also made a strong presence within the city.   Most of the structures and machines might seem the same to outsiders, but the locals can easily tell apart the more recognisable and interesting locations throughout the streets and tracks of the Stone City. Places such as The Mines of Ivus, the 3 Heart Fires, the Royal Family Palace and the Frost Market.
