An entire city named after me? Well, I said it was a bit much at the time but, I’ve come to see it as quite a compliment.
The skyline haven, the capital, the expanding city, the standing fort. These are a few names for Ohar, named after the leader of the 12 Commanders, Oharius. Once a fort resting on a hill has now become a centre point for the continent. Erected after the end of the
Cytal Civil War and witness to the final battle, people thought there was no better place to signify a new age of peace. Full of people from all walks of life claiming the city as its own, Ohar has something new to discover around every corner. From honouring those lost in the war at the Shrine of The Fallen to the temples of devotion to religions new and old.
The Fort
If one was to walk through the city it wouldn’t be a difficult task, for a central path trails from the entrance, leading to the base of the hill. Then coiling itself around the hill, letting travellers step through every district and tier until they reach the peak. Where they will find the remains of Fort Kasucian. The original name for this land, an ancient fort that has been home to countless people throughout time with the most recent being the
Cult of Chaos. The fort itself has remained untouched since the final battle partly as a memorial and partly to the fact the cult has left several traps throughout the fort and its underground layers that have yet to be discovered.
Handmade Tier
The first habitants of Ohar settled at the base of the hill, building various houses and architecture that represent peace and openness as well as bringing a spot of colour to wash away the tension of war. With the people of
Cytal using their crafts to build what the city is today. Here is where most residents live, from
Minauran to
Alum. All are welcome in the city and Mayor Baddarin, along with the help of Commander Oharius have ingrained in the population this mantra in the hopes of maintaining peace. This tier is also home to many temples and shrines to various gods including the
Church of Hodall. But the newest sect to arise in the city is the Disciples of Peace, a group devoted to worshipping the commanders as heralds sent down by the
Acuran of Balance and Harmony.
Rising Tier
Located between the Handmade tier and peak of the hill, this district is home to many tall towers, large structures and viewpoints to oversee the entire plateau. Many have sturdy bases, concaved central columns and detailed elongated spires that reach towards the stars. If there is business to attend to, then it will be found in one of these towers. From the training grounds of the
Overseers, acting as the city guard made up of veterans from the war; the tower of diplomacy that houses the governing force and the Shrine of Loss. A large stone structure in the shape of a long sword to honour those who were lost in the war. Names carved into the stone all across the structure.
Expanding Tier
Finally, there is the expanding tier, the flat land that surrounds the hill and sprinkled with various structures that wish long to be considered part of the city. Stretching out in all directions, the buildings here are less compact in nature and feels more like an overreaching town than a city. Here you will find the 5 Corners
Golem Game stadium, drop off stations for the business
Cart N Cart and the tinkering society scattered throughout the city known as Slab & Stone.
