Waterfalls of Wassiandor (Wass-ee-an-da)
The Waterfalls of Wassiandor a natural wonder, sparking awe in the many that witness it with their own eyes. The three tiers of the falling water is something not often seen in Cytal with only a few minor waterfalls cascading off the edges of the high cliffs and into the plains and hilly terrain underneath making it famous for many reasons.
Historically it is unknown if the waters naturally formed this way or if the actions of ancient Acurans had some affecton its creation, there is no notable fables or writings of this being the case. However the waters do have a high concentration of magical energy, often causing frequenct aura implosions in the nearby area. However scholars and archeologists such as Paramound have found no correlation between Acurans and the build up of raw magical energy. One thing is known for certain though about the location, it was home to one of the biggest serpents known in Cytal, named Wassiandor after the waterfall.
Now the natural water wonder acts as a compass for beings living in the South East plains, letting them know the ash plains are not too far away. The waterfall itself also feeds the Chirping Trees of the Flood Plains just a half days walk away.
That was a true test of strength that day. Every serpent we faced before was a challenge, but the waterfall beast... On its home terf, surrounded by water, all I could do was support from a distance.
Slithering in the Waters
Whilst the creature was reptilian in nature like its counterpart the Serpent of Sinsilaghoare, it also seemed to have evolved to fit its more aquatic habitat. Growing gills along the side of its neck and fins running down its back and along its slithering body. Most recorded sightings of it also described it as having a silvery skin more akin to Lu-Ma Scales but larger and brighter. The last sighting of this monster was by The Ivory Champions who slayed the beast during their conflict with the Servants of Salamar.Rumour has it that someone is trying to bring back the giant serpents from the dead. But who could be powerful enough to do such a thing? And why?
I love how interconnected with your world the waterfalls are. It was great to be able to pivot out to learn about the Acurans, the Serpent of Sinsilaghoare, and the Ivory Champions. Great article!
