The Ancient Desert Beacon, Fi-Ha is one of the oldest standing cities across Cytal. Erecting in the ancient times where Djinn were free and Acuran roamed the lands. Sitting on the edge of the Eastern plateau watching over the deserts and bowing down the mighty volcano of Fi-Ka-Rah to the North. Home to Fire
Alum, Ka-Ko-Rae and those tough enough to endure the rocky terrain and blazing heat of the dawn star. This sunburnt fortress is a symbol of greatness, wisdom and power to the people of the desert.
In the centre of the city lies the Royal Palace, currently occupied by Chieftain Ho-Han and Chiefess Su-Fi-Han. Ruling over the fortress in solitude. Rarely appearing in public and keeping the day to day running on the city to their mass of advisors and law enforcers (
). Strong, no-nonsense guards with a watchful eye over the streets within the city borders.
The People:
In between the palace gardens and outer walls of Fi-Ha, lies a variety of hot-headed individuals and hardworking beings. Mostly comprised of Fire Alum and Ka-Ko-Rae who thrive in the scorching sun but occasionally joined by other forms of Alum and
Minauran. Very few sorcerers venture this far North of the deserts out of fear of the harsh environment.
Reaching the city is no small task, but is made significantly easier by the many
Camel Walkers who pickup and trolley people across the deserts. Mostly small businesses who respect one another and an excellent source of news and whispers.
There is no shortage of work to be getting on with, from blowing glass to mining. But one of the more adventurous jobs comes by working for the
Bronze Seekers. A guild who aspires to be the greatest treasure hunters, often clashing with archaeology groups and pirates at ruins buried beneath the desert sands. Resting in guild houses in Fi-Ha, Si-Ale and various other settlements in the area.
In the darker depths of workshops, forges and shady alleyways you will likely come across the
Disciples of the Dark Star. Enchanters known for their skilled metalwork and bestowing magic during the rare moments of an eclipse. Working with foreign metals to the area such as
Strafol Ore and
Crylun Steel.
Walking between the blocky, crumbling towers and dome topped buildings, the most notable thing is the rills of lava that flow in the paved pathways and small channels suspended above walkways. The lava is siphoned from the fire pits, used to power the forges of the city and warm up citizens on cooler nights.
Other sights include the mesmerising city wall, lined with uniform towers around the perimeter built in ancient times. And the Plateau edge where you are able to see miles of the baking desert and the colossal great volcano. The scale of the city and its surroundings gives newcomers a sense of awe that is felt in very few other cities.
In the darker corners of sandstone structures lies rumours. The religious group known as the
often go to great lengths to express their feelings about the fire spirits of old. An inconvenience for years that most locals ignore. But recently they have become quiet and the actions of the group have been noticed. There is fears that the group are planning something extreme in the upcoming weeks. Emotions of concern and anger are seeping into the minds of citizens due to the lack of action by Chieftain Ho-Han.
