The Craters of Crellan is a rocky and difficult region located in the South Eastern plains of Cytal. Long ago it was a sea of lush green fields, now a stony wasteland full of uneven mounds and giants craters scattered around. With winding paths, steep inclines and crumbling of rocks, the craters has become home to various villainous activity, mining quarries and archaeological dig sites. Many are warned to avoid the craters if possible and a sharp in case of an emergency. The reputation of the region stops many from exploring, forcing those to miss out on beatiful scenery and wildlife that can't be found anywhere else on the continent.

Towns & Cities:

Toufan

The city of creation, located on the Southern coastline, this newly established city is a beacon to the new age of peace throughout the continent.

Uwoll

The Minauran haven, North of the craters and home to many descendants of those affected by the Minauran Slaughter.

Durnedale

Home to the battle of Durnedale between The Shards Warriors and Cult of Chaos during the civil war. The town destroyed and the heroes defeated, allowing the cult to take one step closer to achieving their goals.

Eradykll

A fallen village destroyed in a freak accident, unleashing a terrible monster upon the lands.

Eyeterster

A sleepy, resting place for miners and travellers heading to the south to explore the remants of Strafol ore and unearthed artefacts.

Greystream

The only known town in Cytal to be openly run by Necromancers. Ruled by the Strategist and his disciples of the Crellan Creed.

Hoppson

A busy, bustling city in the Northern region of the craters. A common resting place for those travelling from the South plains to the deserts.

Tenketh

Usually a quiet village has suddenly been the topic of conversation. With several children gone missing in the night.

Landmarks:

Polarizing Lake

Once one of the largest craters in all the region, now the deepest lake. Flooded by the rivers that flow from the dual peaks this naturally forming lake is home to a variety of water lifeforms. With abnormal abilities and appearances due to the scattering of Strafol ore below the surface.

Giant's Waystone

Discovered by the Realm Rangers during the age of exploration, this buried waystone was revealed on the inner walls of a crater. This solid tower of stones acts as a gateway between Violem and the realm of giants.

Tomb of Crellan

At the bottom of a central crater, lies a small temple carved from Strafol ore and hardened stone. Sealed from the outside and widely assumed to be the final resting place of Crellan, the Acuran of Craters .

Waterfalls of Wassiandor

Named after the legendary serpent, Wassiandor, this three tiered waterfall cascades down the side of the plateau and begins its journey of the plains in the crater region. Before veering off to the West and continuing to the Chirping Trees of the Flood Plains.

Legends and Rumours:

Ghost of Crellan

Crellan, the Acuran of Craters was said be one with the earth and stone. Capable of summoning Strafol from the heavens and bringing it down to the ground. The legends say he grew in power and demanded an audience with the creators of the universe so that he could replace them. But when they did not respond, he lashed out in a fit of rage, destroying himself and the land around him in an attempt to gain their attention. Legends say his spirit haunts the lands, plotting for a way to return to the land of the living and take revenge on the gods that ignored him.

Magnetic Miniatures of Madness

People of the craters say there a band of goblins that have joined forces and stolen weapons from the Strafol Seekers. Granting them the power of magnetism and causing havoc at every turn along the roads.

Return of the Creed Killer

A decade ago, one man in a green cloak stood up against the Crellan Creed in an attempt to defeat them once and for all. Sadly he never seen again once he entered the town of Greystream. Many presumed him to be dead until recently, when rumours started spreading of a man in a green hood and cloak began killing members of the Creed once again. The thought of the hero returning has given the people hope of a new age, one without the infuence of this necrotic organisation.

Spirit Circus

A tale told throughout the craters in an attempt to scare children into behaving has recently become a concern for the parents in Tenketh. The story speaks of a group of Wanderlings who met their demise at the hands of a wicked witch. Who then harnessed the souls of the clan to do her bidding across the craters. Luring children out of their beds and into the clutches of the evil witch. With several children suddenly gone missing, people are starting to wonder if this tale has some truth behind it.
