Incineration Plasma Thrower

A weapon similar to a flamethrower of the Hyperion Federation. While it only has an extremely short range, which limits its use significantly, it is incredibly powerful as it melts through enemy armour and electronic equipment, while causing so much damage to shields that it almost instantly drains even the most reinforced of targets.
The weapon works by constantly launching a large volume of superheated plasma at low velocity. This damages shields extremely heavily and can melt many forms of armour, and also seeps into gaps in armour which further increases the rate of heating. This makes the Incineration extremely powerful, especially against organic targets, and can also heavily damage enemy morale because flamethrowers are very scary to organics. 
The Incineration was, surprisingly, designed by a Data Fae. This individual has been highly fascinated with HF weapons technology, and as such managed to design several surprisingly powerful weapons. Out of this person's arsenal, the HF has only used the Incineration, though the data fae himself has used many of his weapons in virtual games inside his home data fae hive. The HF borrowed it because it has several properties that no other HF short range weapon has, such as immense heat transfer to an enemy target. They rarely use it because it has very limited range and HF doctrine favors long range battles. Still, they sometimes get into short range fights.
