Phaela

A small fishing village, Phaela is most noted as being the literal “end of the road” for travelers venturing south from Meletis. The rugged lands beyond are rocky and scattered with forgotten ruins.

Demographics

The lower and lowest class of humans living around the polis of Meletis are found here.

Government

Because of the size of this village, there is no one leader, but instead, the townsfolk work together and choose who will take their needs to the polis based on what they are.

Defences

the Meletian troops who patrol the coasts to the eastside help to protect the small village and if a threat were to strike the people themselves would attempt to defend themselves.

Industry & Trade

The residents trade fish to Meletis but it isn't a large enough export that it elevates the city. There are a few hunters and repair people in the village that trade back and forth with each other to make sure that the few individuals there have enough to at least survive.

Infrastructure

small stone and thatch homes, worn-travel roads, a very small market center with a few stalls.

Assets

fishing grounds

Geography

Right on the coast and very near the mountains, Phaela is an end of the road stop. The lands to the south of it and even south of Neolantin are rocky and mountainous, making travel there extremely difficult. Into the mountains and beyond, there are ruins of the ancient Meletis that was ruled by the tyrant Agnomakhos. Their coastal border doesn't have a hardy enough dock to support incoming travelers either, making it an unlikely stop if you're traveling around the peninsula and many prefer to continue on to Oxus.
