Listes

Listes is a fortress marking the northeastern border of the polis. The civilian population is hardly less disciplined than the members of the Reverent Army stationed there, and the whole population observes Iroas’s holy days together. The closest to Akros outside of Akros. The military-based population is known for serving the people of Meletis with every ounce of their might. While Akroans might not believe that the Meletian army is up to their standards, their forces and the navy found in the harbor are strong component warriors who've religiously protected the polis.

The Reverent Army

The hoplites of Meletis practice battlefield tactics in an environment saturated with religious devotion. The military force of the polis is called the Reverent Army, and aims as much to exalt the glory of the pantheon as to defend Meletis. The soldiers are clever and resourceful, believing their piety leads the gods to smile upon them. More likely, though, their extensive training in battlefield tactics and magic gives them an edge over other soldiers, with most Meletian hoplites knowing at least a little magic.

Government

There is a commander in chief that commands the forces of the Reverent Army and a civilian liason who helps to manage everyday necessities that the army cannot attend to.

Industry & Trade

many of the civilians work in the armory and blacksmithing shops to help repair and maintain the weapons and armor brought in from Akros. There are farmers inside the walls with small gardens that support the people and a physician/cleric to look after injuries.

large stone tower and fortress that has a stone wall surrounding it where the smaller barracks and homes are protected from outside invasions, stone main roads, market stalls, blacksmith, town hall/meeting place.

History

The Reverent Army has protected Meletis and the surrounding holding from several skirmishes and battles from attempts at invasions from Mogis-following minotaurs and others seeking to sack Meletis.
