Krimnos

Renowned as the home of Anapse, the philosopher who founded the Anapsian school, the village of Krimnos attracts many philosophers who share Anapse’s delight in the pleasures of a simple life.

Demographics

Pretty diverse considering. There are many students of philosophy who've come from across Theros to see the home of Anapse and have stayed in the area. Being near the travel roads from Setessa and just off the roads from Akros, the village sees quite a few immigrants from those areas.

Government

The mayor of Krimnos, Thomas Nassotis, oversees interactions between the village and Meletis. He ensures the town gets what it needs to deal with the tourism to the House and has put together a local militia, sort of, to protect the village. He lives with his wife and son in the largest home in the village.

Defences

Local force made up of individuals who volunteered to hunt and protect the small village, just a handful of people, no more than 10 at any given time. Simple skills, not formally trained. Wooden watchtower helps them to guard the village by providing a longer range view of the land side of the village as well as the sea.

Industry & Trade

Some tourists visit the home of Anapse. Many of the inhabitants are farmers and fishers and trade their goods with Meletis for necessary tools and construction supplies. They are pretty self-sufficient as a smaller village that Meletis predominantly ignores.

Infrastructure

White stone homes with thatch roofs, access to the sea with watermill and city circulation, access to main trade road, small boatyard, market stalls.

Assets

Home of Anapse, fishing grounds

History

Anapse's home was here and as he grew to become one of the most prolific and important philosophers of Meletis and extremely renowned in the area, his home is securely guarded, the only Meletian soldiers there in the village, to ensure this piece of history remains.

Tourism

A few people come to see the home of Anapse, but few stays and not many of them come for long either. This makes the tourism the home affords mediocre at best. It's almost like those bronze "historical marker" signs that you see. They're maintained and there are those that stop, but it's not a big money maker.

Architecture

simple, small, white stone homes with thatch roofs, market stalls made of wood, one larger home that was build by the mayor and some helpers for whoever is to be mayor.

Geography

coastal on one small side of the inlet, the other side is land and forest near to Listes and then on to the Lagonna Pass.

Natural Resources

fishing area, wildlife and forests, sea resources of stone and valuables
