Andorran Mountains
The Andoran Mountains are neither jagged nor towering. Their peaks may boast snow late in the spring and early and the fall, but during the high summer months, the warm breezes off of the Eldorian Sea strip them of their white crowns. Most, in fact, are more rounded, conifer covered tops than true pinnacles. The great predators that struck fear in the hearts of Andoran tribesmen, for whom the range was named, such as hippogriff or bugbear, roam their forested slopes no more. Like the rest of the Island of Eldoria, they have been tamed by humanity.
Even so, they remain the wildest place on the Island. Loggers and trappers still frequent them to harvest timber for the shipyards in Phelandria and the pets of ermine and bear to appease the fashions of nobility in Karradone. But beyond the farms and pastures full of sheep that surround Krellia, the only town in the heart of the range, there are few permanent settlements and of those, few are more than a solitary cabin, its occupants barely scraping by.
The road through mountains, that connects Karradone in the west to Theyla in the east, however, is well maintained and patrolled by Legionnaires. They ensure that it stays clear of brigand, monster, and in the winter months, of snow itself. Inns stand at regular intervals, ensuring that he merchants and other travelers, who are the life's blood of the Empire can travel the breadth of the island without every needing to light a campfire or sleep under the stars.
