Andor Family

As a pre-imperial tribe, the Andors were famous for their inestion of the crossbow. They controlled much of the eastern half of the Island of Eldoria. Jendale d'Uthar's forces, however, defeated them for the final time in 304 AC, accepting their surrender at their remaining stronghold at the mouth of the Belin River. Rather than exterminating their enemies, as they had done with some many other tribes, Jendale saw an opportunity to unify the island. In exchange for the title of "Warlord", he named the Andors part of his family, making them the guardians of the high places. This stunning turn of diplomacy made them forever in d'Uthar debt and the dukes of Krellia.

Over the centuries, the d'Uthars have never let the Andors forget this debt. Their primary means of compliance that the Andor's send their first born sons and daughters from the ducal line to Eldarin for education. In most cases, it has the effects one would expect. The Andor children form close bonds with the d'Uthar children, often resulting in marriages between the lines, further tightening their bonds. Occasionally, its has the opposite effect, reinforcing the debt and fermenting resentment. Those children that show their resentment on the surface are invariably shipped to Carboth or some other far flung Imperial post. More dangerous are those that keep it to themselves, working against the Empire from the shadows.
