Cliffs of Talbourne

Famously tall and steep, the reddish clay Cliffs of Talbourne rise up from the north central coast of the Island of Eldoria, ranging in height anywhere from twenty-five feet at their edges to three hundred feet around Verdun Bay. While the cliffs are indeed steep, they are often lined with terraces and ledges, some as much as thirty feet deep. Around the bay, people have carved into the cliff faces, extending these ledges even further, allowing Eldorian's to built the magnificent terraced city of Phelandria.

Engineers involved in second excavation, after Verdun itself crashed into the city destroying it, have found that the reddish clay is striped with veins of a metallic ore as one digs deeper. The flecks are tiny, yet numerous, causing the cliffs behind the newly built city to sparkle with a vermillion hue in the moonlight and the waters from the mighty Talbourne River to turn iridescently red as they plummet over them.
