Verdun

Shy and regular, Verdun is said to be the eldest son of Tiras and never makes an appearance while the sun shines. Appearing white and low in the night sky, the larger of Tarien's moons has a roughly 40 day cycle. In fact, this regularity caused DuMare to divide his Calendar into 40-day segments called Moons.

Verdun was also the moon the Selengar Shal'Ashen used to destroy Phelandria in 580 AC. Careful observers can see the dark spot on his face when the moon is full where the great magi ripped out the portion that he pulled down to Tarien.
