Talbourne Falls
One of most breathtaking natural wonders of Tarien can be found mere steps away from the busy streets of one of its largest cities. The waters of the Talbourne River begin their short journey from North Lake in the Andorran Mountains of Eldoria, travelling a scant two dozen leagues before plummeting nearly three hundred feet over cliffs into Verdun Bay.
The falls themselves mark the eastern barrier of Phelandria, a terraced wonder of engineering in its own right. The water cascading over the falls, glittering with a reddish hue from the clay silts dissolved into it, powers several of the cities mills and forms the centerpiece of at least two estate gardens. A number of caves and tunnels cut through the cliffs behind the falls. Filled with mists, slimes, and mold, most run for less than score of feet before ending in bedrock. The city, however, patrols these caves regularly, evicting squatters. There has been some discussion of cutting several tunnels deeper, to allow for the expansion of the city, but nothing serious has come of it.
