The Gold Dragon - Kogzar

The Gold Dragon Inn in Kogzar is one of the smallest inns within the city. The inn has overtaken the former manor of a minor lord in the city and is known as one of the nicest, and safest, places to stay.

Design

  • The main entry to the inn connects to the foyer and grand hall which has stairs leading to an upper level gallery.
  • The first room on the left is a small office used by the Inn Keeper.
  • The second on the left is a music room. The room has magically connected sending stones which are linked to other rooms in the inn, allowing for music to be played in any room without need of a bard or musician in the space.
  • The first room to the right is the inn keeper's personal quarters, allowing easy access to serve guests at a moment's notice.
  • The second room on the right is the kitchen, through which the servant's quarters and cellar can be accessed. The cellar acts as the main pantry and private wince cellar for the inn.
  • Behind the grand staircase is access to the Dining room which also gives access to the public lavatory.
  • At the top of the staircase is the grand gallery, which houses many paintings and other works of art created by the former manor's residents.
  • The first room at the top of the stairs is the grand suite, which has access to its own private bathroom, office, and balcony.
  • Two more smaller rooms can be accessed from either side of the gallery, each having two beds, a wardrobe, and a small desk.

Entries

The grant entrance faces south in the city, with a large patio and well kept garden.   There is also a smaller, servant's entrance at the back which connects to the kitchen.

Sensory & Appearance

The inn often has floral scents wafting from the well kept gardens outside.  Minty tea is also a regular scent within as it is one of the innkeeper's favorite beverages.  The building is regularly filled with quiet fiddle, guitar, or piano music as there are three bards hired to work in the music room, ensuring someone is always available to play.

Architecture

The inn is a grand timber and brick building, with elf-wrought tables and chairs. It was once a manor house, and has a collection of artwork. Accommodations consist of several large rooms with beds and feather mattresses.

History

The Ohra manor was the once house of former Nobleman Leonard Ohra.  The nobleman was the eldest son of the late Tamiro Ohara, who amassed great wealth that was passed down, along with the land, to Leonard.  The man had a history of gambling issues and was eventually forced to sell the property and its contents, which were purchased by House Ghallanda in the early 1,000s PA.  The manor was renovated and turned into the Gold Dragon Inn that it is today.
