Defences
This massive tower is the sole settlement in the center of the primary desert of Kubrajad, making it difficult to reach without special guides or teleportation.
Additionally, the only form of teleportation that works to enter the city is the gates which are pre-existing, and special keys which only allow access to singular rooms or locations within the massive tower.

Industry & Trade
The city is the center of trade for Kubrajad, with the 7 teleportation gates which connect the 7 capitol cities of the other magical countries to this point. Transportation of all types through these gates is taxed, which in turn brings much income to the city.
Any goods teleported in or out of the city through the main teleportation gates are taxed at 10% for each teleportation.

Tourism

- Home of The Sandstone Plaza, a large shopping complex that has entry points in most major cities around Shavirouk. Many shops within the Plaza also have their own separate entry points which restrict access to the shop only, rather than the whole of the complex.
Architecture
Every level of the tower is 18 floors, with the lower 5 having massive balconies which wrap in a semi-circle around the curved sides of the structure. The balconies are used mostly for growing food, though the lowest is used for stables and livestock housing.
Within the structure of the city tower that is the Sandstone tower, there are fabrial lifts. Each resembles a balcony and is one of many that line a vast open shaft in the middle of the city - a columnar space as wide as a ballroom, which stretches up from the first floor to the last. The balconies crawl steadily along vertical trenches in the walls.
The tiers of the city, despite looking circular from the front, are actually more half-circles, with their flat sides facing east. The edges of the lower levels disappear into the sands on either side, but the very center is open to the east. The rooms up against the flat side have windows there, providing a view over the desert in the direction of the suns' rise.
Each tier is smaller than the one below it, but the roof above is over a hundred yards wide. It is cold up there.
In the central shaft, windows make up one wall. It's a pure, single, unbroken pane of glass hundreds of feet tall. In daylight, they light the shaft with brilliant sunlight.
Several pillars designed with representations of the schools of magic stand on the top floor of the tower. A set of steps there take one up through a trapdoor onto the very roof of the tower.
The Tower seems to have been crafted straight from the rock of a long forgotten mountain, like a sculpture. There aren't seams at the corners of rooms, nor are there distinct bricks or blocks in the walls. Much of the stone exposes thin lines of strata; beautiful lines of varied hue that cut through the walls in distinctive patterns.
The corridors often twist about in strange curves, rarely running straight toward an intersection.
In individual chambers, ledges that surround wide square depressions, perhaps four feet deep, cut into the stone floor. The wall strata therein continues their curving, twisting medley of oranges, reds, and browns - ballooning out across the sides of each chamber in wide bands before coiling back into narrow stripes to continue down hallways.
There are several bathing chambers around the tower which have stone sculptures - like the heads of horses - as spouts extending from the walls with their mouths open near the ceiling.
