Headframe Communal House

This old structure once acted as the Headframe for the Hillton Mines but has gone unused as such for a number of decades. It was recently refurbished and turn into a small communal house for the immigrants from Tahn Ska when they first arrive in the town, as well as a place for visitors to the town to stay at. Simple meals are provided for those staying here at the end of each day.

Design

Ground Floor

  • Entry room is fairly large and cozy, with a well made though time-worn rug sitting in front of a large stone fireplace.  A few random barrels and crates sit around the walls of the space, each containing simply made clothing or bland rations of food for gests at the Communal House to take as they need.
  • Behind the fireplace are two stairways, one leading up and another leading down.
  • A hallway branches off near the fireplace leading to two rooms, each with two doors, that have 4 bunk-beds and 4 large chests in each.  The chests are divided into two equal parts.  A small pillow and an extra blanket are in each part.  The bunks are made of sturdy wood, simple in design but well kept, with a ladder leading to the top at the foot end.
  • At the end of the hallways is a small desk with a few bees-wax candles and saucers for those who may need light.

Basement

  • The entry-space of the basement houses a small table with chairs for 4 on a similar time-worn rug to the one on the ground level.
  • A long hall has access to another two rooms, similar to the ones on the ground floor, with 4 bunk-beds and 4 large chests in each.
  • There are more crates and barrels for storage down here as well.
  • At the end of the hallways is a small desk with a few bees-wax candles and saucers for those who may need light.

Top Floor

  • The entry to the top floor is one of the larger and more cozy communal spaces in the House.  There is a large table with seating enough for 10, along with another small pile of various crates and barrels of supplies for those who need.
  • Another hallway leads to rooms with 4 bunks and 4 chests.
  • At the end of the hall is another small desk with candles and saucers for those that need light.
