Stone Grove
Stone Grove is a community of around 400 myconid and Vegepygmy people who live in the subterranean tunnels that are found adjacent and connected to the Hillton Mine.
While most of the vegepygmy people live on the other side of the main river that separates Stone Grove from the rest of the Mines, they are still considered a part of the colony known as Stone Grove. They act as scouts, guards, and fighters for their more peaceful cousins, the Myconids.
One of the most unusual parts of the Stone Grove colony is that the Myconids who live within age much more quickly than most others, reaching adulthood around 3 years old, and dying by the time they reach around 7.
Decades ago, the ancestors of the people of Stone Grove had lived in Death Light before it was overtaken and fortified by the goblins who now call the place home.
Government
- The leader of Stone Grove is an individual known simply as The Sovereign.
- Beneath the Sovereign are a number of groups known as circles, each with around 20 members. Each circle has a specific job within the colony, such as watching over children, exploration, and agriculture.
Defences
The tunnels which lead to Stone Grove are covered in a massive number of incredibly toxic mushrooms that can kill relatively quickly if an individual comes into contact with them.
However, the area immediately adjacent to the river which acts as a physical guard to the main "holy land" of Stone Grove is relatively clear and safe as few mushrooms grow there, and none of the more deadly spores reach so far.
The area that is overgrown with thick and dark grass and strange mushrooms has a constant haze of strange spores which can be incredibly dangerous and toxic to those who are not immune to poison, which acts as an additional layer of protection for the peaceful people. The Sovereign has the ability to grant a temporary form of protection by inoculating an individual with a layer of dust-like spores which harmlessly coat their lungs and throat in a protective layer.
