The Citadel

The citadel was created to protect the west side of the hill which was originally the only entrance to the hill. Afterwards the bridge between the Anchia district and the Periga district was constructed. Still in case of an emergency the bridge would be destroyed forcing any attackers to gather at the citadel to try reaching the Anchia district. Although it has not happened in recent centuries the Citadel has proven invaluable for the defense of the city. Especially in it's earlier years.
