Zodryn
Zodryn is a military training town, a training site for athletes and one of the Communes of Qosid. It is also home to an annual sports event and renowned for its strong melee warriors. Although home to democratic assemblies, disputes and voting ties are typically resolved using combat.
Government
In Zodryn, martial prowess is the only important thing. The comune is led hierarchically by Elders, senior, strong wood elves who train the others in combat and discipline. The commune is segmented into cohorts, each with a size of 15-20 warriors, and each commune is led by a single Elder.
The Elders administer the commune and meet during special assemblies in which each of them has equal voice. The Elder organise similar assemblies with their own cohorts and ideally, this would lead to a nested democratic structure. However, the Elders can speak at their own discretion when meeting with each other, meaning that even popular opinions from the cohort assemblies may not be heard by all the Elders. The Elders consider this to be a just consequence of their strength, status and experience.
To ascertain there is order among the Elders, they hold an ongoing ranked tournament. The rank in this tournament determines which priviliges are to be enjoyed and the top ranked Elder also gains the position of Representative of Zodryn.
Industry & Trade
Zodryn is as close to a standing army as Qosid gets and is therefore supported by the other communes. In both Oltumur and Thellur, wagons collect tithes for the warriors, which come in the form of clothing, food, weaponry and other materials. In return, Zodryn is expected to assist in times of conflict or war.
