Moss Cave

Moss Cave is an ancient commune in Qosid that is dedicated to Waye and run by a priestly caste. Moss Cave is best known as the site where Nesidyn the Bard was initiated into the Wayesh cult and where he had visions that brought him to write A Bird's Flight, the epic poem that would ultimately see him banned from Qosid.

Demographics

The Moss Cave is a commune of wood elves, all of which are involved in prayer, meditation and transcendence. The mission of the Moss Cave Mystery is to make contact with the divine essence of nature, of which Waye is the cosmic manifestation.

Government

The priests of Moss Cave debate their visions and reflections to achieve the perfect alignment of mystic knowledge and moral action. Their discussions shape collective decision-making. In case of disputes, prayer is directed towards Waye, who through divine intervention then signals the course of action.   The Representative of Moss Cave is decided by bringing those who aspire the role into a pool inside the cave. They are tasked to lie down in the cave until moss grows into their noses. The first one to achieve this outcome is chosen by Waye to represent the commune in the outside world.

Industry & Trade

Those seeking oracles, personal transformations or blessings by Waye seek out the Moss Cave, bearing consumable gifts to the goddess. The priestly caste may then eat or drink these gifts, so that they become flesh in honour of the Mother of All.
