Polephemon
Lord of the seas and summoner of storms, Polephemon is a god who is feared and respected for the sheer amount of power that he can bring to bear and for being the ultimate power in charge of the oceans and seas of the world.
As one of the brothers of Prota, Polephemon is one of the main belligerents in the Divine War as he fights to be recognised as the legitimate head of the other gods and goddesses.

Common Worshipers
His association with the sea and storms means that Polephemon is most commonly worshipped by sapient denizens who live beneath the waves, and by land based humanoids who either live on coasts or islands, or whose occupation regularly leads them out to sea. Polephemon is an especially popular deity amongst fishers and ships crews.Priesthood
Unusually, whilst a priesthood of Polephemon does exist and is widespread, it is unusual for land dwelling humanoids to be clerics of this particular god. Instead, Polephemon prefers to anoint clerics from water dwelling humanoid races, such as Tritons or Merfolk, the logic being that not only were they created by him as races, but they also understand the seas and therefore Polephemon’s domain so much more intimately than any land based humanoid ever could. This means that whilst priests of Polephemon happily serve land based communities, it is rare for them to dwell within the communities they minister to, instead living beneath the waves, close enough to conveniently travel to the temple within their charge every day.Temples
It is common for communities located along coastlines or on islands to have temples to Polephemon, given their proximity to the sea, but it is rare for communities in land to have temples specifically dedicated to him alone. Most temples of Polephemon are built right on the shoreline, with part of them open to the sea and built so that twice a day the incoming tide floods this open section, a visual representation of the god’s power of the depths.Family Tree of the Divines
