Sword and Chalice Tavern

On the north side of the junction between Back Lane and Field Lane, this establishment is the liveliest and most disreputable tavern in the town. Despite (or because) it is a favoured drinking den of the soldiery of the Count of Herrir, it has never been proved (in law) to be the den of iniquity that it is known to be by custom.

Purpose / Function

This Tavern is a known haunt for Soldiers, Adventurers, Wanderers and Naer-do-wells. The locals visit furtively (if at all) and the respectible women of the town give the building a wide berth even in daylight.

Having said that, the tavern yard is a venue for travelling players; the smaller rooms are comfortable and private and there is little actual overt trouble for the authorities to take notice of.
