The Adrakian Age

1A - 2001 A

  • 1 Adrakian Era
    Founding of the Empire
    Era beginning/end

While the official treaty is not a written document, there is a stone monument marking the event of when the Adrakian Triad met and united. the Adrakian Empire would use the date as the beginning of their recorded history, despite the written records of mortals referring to an Empire dating much later.

According to legend and myth, the Adrakian gods had been each alone and defending themselves and a handful of mortal settlements against outsiders. At first, when each met the other, conflict would break out.

Through the mortals, however, the dragons were able to begin making peace as mortals would trade amongst each other. The three would meet in an area that was near the middle of their borders and deem the place as acceptable for their negotiations.

At the time, the Empire was small, and surrounded by others who were jealous of the settlements' divine protection. The Triad agreed to protect the other's territory as many were better than one.

This would be the first recorded time in Soplas history of any major unification, and would sometime later the event would be used as the official first year of the Adrakian Era.

Life Forging as Punishment (Academic Estimation)
    Criminal Activity

While the records suggest Life Forging predates this estimated date, academics generally settled on this time as being about when the Empire began expanding the crimes they would inflict the process upon.   Most Life Forged were sentenced to the forging as punishment for the unrepentant or irredeemable. The forgers honestly believed the souls they were manipulating into objects were "blank" souls from the process.   The Life Forged had no memories of who they had been, for thousands of years until fragments start returning based on triggers. The process was eventually banned though there is no cure.

    Life Forging Banned (Academic Estimate)
    Civil action

Life Forging was used to convert the irredeemable criminals of the Adrakian Empire's society into objects of use. The Life Forged would have no memory and be treated as blank slates, no matter who they were before the Forging.

Life Forged golems were valuable sources of labor, military force, or bodyguards.

Swords forged or engraved to house a Life Forged would inherit traits of the former person's self - a mage would grant the sword magical traits that mage had the most mastery over - while also providing an additional voice of advice or espionage.

However, as centuries passed, the Life Forged would remember who they were, shifting the requirements for sentencing.

Eventually the practice would be ended with specific exceptions. One of Athtica, the Unfettered Gear's High Priests would be Forged as her divine punishment when his crimes came to light - the Former High Priest had been using Life Forging as a way to remove his political rivals and anyone he deemed as "a waste to society."

The Former High Priest is still hunted to this day by his victims and was last rumored to be in the World Spine Mountains.

Antral's Rebellion fights Kotzuiyrn and Coryduin
    Military: Battle

Antral led a rebellion against the dragon gods, claiming they had usurped the power and position of the true gods of the region. As her region was mostly controlled by the Priesthood of Kotzuiyrn, she was mostly rebelling against him more than the other two.   By the final battle she had gathered a force of displeased Life Forged, disgruntled citizens, and disillusioned priests, and marched them into the twin cities of Oestopti and Estopti for her final battle against the Razing.   It is said she personally killed the dragon, supported by her mounting his skull on the wall of what would be repurposed to a temple for the Thydian gods.
