Power Generation

Gold Salt

The simple tendency of the salt to float is captured in sufficient quantities inside a large rubber ball stitched together to various sizes which contributes to a balloon's weight bearing capacity.

Propulsion

Lower Winds

It is well known that the winds that blow along the larger valley change direction with the flood seasons. As a result, the prevailing winds would steer the carriers in rotatory and counter-rotatory movements along the lengths of the Mais. But this is only possible because the currents are disrupted by the whole of the Bad Step and Meiz-Salt Place boundary, to complete an internal trade circuit.   Travel outside the Mais Trade Winds is more unpredictable. The currents that blow in the northern part of Bad Step are less turbulent than over Mais, but they flow in the direction of the lakes. The wider circumference in the Valley of Man leaves less localized pressure which slows the carrier speed and makes it harder.

Higher Winds

Courtiers discovered that different tides of wind are found at different heights above the valley floor. Along these currents, a daring captain can venture to the Salt Side, over the Floodlands and even chance the Ribs at Giantsfall.   It is from these winds, that is responsible for most carrier crashes.

Vent Valves

The salt and rubber balloon displaces an amount of air because it is lighter than air. The amount of salt determines how high the balloon will fly. Therefore, as a means of controlling elevation, a covered cap is opened and closed to let out controlled steams of the glittering salt to descend.   The carrier's balloon is actually made up of several segmented rubber balloons. As well as to filter more gold salt from the ground to cause ascent.

Weapons & Armament

Projectile Units

Every carrier carries a compliment of archers.

Armor and defense

Cotton

Layers of thick sheets of cotton can be laid over the rubber parts of the balloons as a means of protection.

Feathers

Dragon Feathers can be similarly tied around the balloon, but are not as protective against piercing shots.

Communication Tools & Systems

Flags

Flags are used in the air-to-air and air-to-ground communication. The flags are usually square or triangular, red and yellow, divided diagonally with the red portion in the upper hoist. They can spell out short messages, and individual flags and various combinations of flags also have special meanings. On ceremonial and festive occasions the signal flags are used to decorate the balloons.

Blow Horns

A blowing horn or winding device that is usually made of or shaped like an animal horn or snail shells, arranged to blow from a hole in the pointed end of it. To make messages audible at a distance, horns and shells of a deep percussion and are generally loud, and chiefly used for this purpose.

Sensors

Salt Weights

Although it is sealed as tightly as possible to prevent escape, salt is still able to slip though the seams and depreciate the bloated ball. When any glistering salt particles are noticed by the crew, the site is sewn tighter and if more salt kept in weighted pots is transferred to the balloon.

Additional & auxiliary systems

Anchor

The balloon system is tethered the ground or other heavily thing to prevent it from flying away.

Hangars & docked vessels

Golden Bridge

Anchor points are retrofitted at unevenly spaced points on the bridge to unload and make it easier to deliver to Sheien.

High Altitude Cities

Cities and other settlements being directly serviced are the southern cavern cities on the Long Step that are positioned on comparable elevations.
