Preparing for Summer Camp 2021

In preparation for Summer Camp, I am:

• Cleaning up tags and categories
• Organizing pics & gathering new ones that might be useful
• Sorting through my stubs and ToDo list
• Listing my still to-be-written articles in case a prompt fits one
• Editing old articles as time permits

Reflecting on Summer Camp 2020

Summer Camp 2020 was my first time participating in Summer Camp on World Anvil. I surprised myself by completing all the prompts, but definitely felt anxiety over some of them, which I will try to avoid this year.

In addition, I pledge to:

• Take lots of breaks! - especially when feeling overwhelmed, unproductive, or experiencing eye strain
• Write first, format later
• Be okay with shorter articles that can be expanded later as needed
• Strive to work on fiction-writing before working on prompts


• Not compare myself to others - this one will be hard, but I will try
• Not feel obligated to read every notification
• Not beat myself up if I do not finish all 31 prompts
• Not obsess over likes

Summer Camp Prep Questions

Which projects are your worldbuilding efforts tied to?

This world is the setting for a novel I've been working on for quite some time now, Mage Rising. My first draft currently sits (incomplete) at ~80k words, and my second draft, which is almost a total rewrite, is currently at ~10k words.
This is to be the start of a fantasy series and this world will hopefully, eventually, serve as the setting to many stories.

What world are you working on?

My only world at this time, Valayo

Which area of the world(s) are you working on?

Summer Camp 2021 articles will all be located in Wennovi, the western continent of Valayo, and/or Mantalos.

Wennovi is a land divided by a magical barrier, the Great Divide, into two vastly different subcontinents: Paltetia, a land that knows no magic, and Imbria, a land where magic level determines socioeconomic status and political power.
One primary source of conflict in Imbria are the cultural beliefs and differing practices of magic amongst the various countries.
Magic throughout the lands
Mantalos is an island-nation that finds itself pulled into the political and social drama of Imbria through its participation in the Magic Freedom Coalition.

I would like to complete all 31 prompts, however, I also need to get back into novel-writing, so I will be happy if I complete 10 prompts

When will you write?

Any chance I get, though unfortunately, I tend to be most productive late at night
