Dog

The people of Palimpsest sometimes keep dogs as pets, workers or guards. In more recent times, the fashion has turned towards keeping pygmy-Gnolls instead of dogs, which is particularly common in the Noble Court.

Breeds

Boarder Collie: Dogs owned and used by the labourers who were sleeping in the adjoining quarters of the mills and factories they worked in were referred to as boarder collies. The Archdeacon Josepon Leadbeater has a pet boarder collie named Worker.
Ironside Molossus: An enormous breed of hunting hound reared by Vizier Balthazar Ironside. A genetic blend of Dog, Gnoll and Rhinoceros, the Molossus has a thick hide, dappled coat and naturally aggressive temperament. Standing roughly the height of a human, these large dogs have a fiercely powerful bite and hind kick. Balthazar's prized molossus, Laelaps was killed (twice) in a Patchwork Empire attack on the Ironside Estate.
Terrier: The sacred animal of the Terrier Beneath the Sands, terriers are a breed of dog designed to hunt Rabbits.
