Marigold Hill
The highest point in the Donneshire Hills, Marigold Hill or “Old Marigold” sits west of the river running south from Lake Bolo. Its crown is ringed with bright yellow, orange, and red flowers that give it its name and while it is not a true mountain, its peak gives a great view of Northfarthing, Rooktown, Lake Bolo, and the rest of the Donneshire Hills. Perched directly atop Marigold Hill’s summit is an ancient oak tree, known as "Ol' Quercus" to the locals. It is scarred with the names and initials of centuries of Shire folk who’ve climbed through its massive and gnarled branches.
Tourism
Marigold Hill attracts residents from all over the Donneshire Hills. In particular, young shire folk in love see carving their initials in the bark of "Ol Quercus" as a testament to their beaus.
