Raven's Nest
The Raven’s Nest tavern is located in central Rooktown and takes serious pride in its hardscrabble image. In truth, this roadhouse has been carefully cultivated over the years. A stone and wooden building stands atop of the old hobbit hole, and in this upper level there is a stage that is almost always occupied by a bard of some sort. Larger folk can navigate this upper level well enough (although its still a squeeze in places) but the lower areas (accessible by the original weathered round door with a Raven painted on it) are going to be too cramped for bigger folk. The Raven’s Nest is run by Cole Porter Alvarez, a pudgy Halfling who mans the downstairs bar. He leaves the keeping of the upper taproom to his half elf partner, Billy Two Points. Also living downstairs is the old proprietor, Mierna Tufner.
Amongst the regulars at the Raven’s Nest are Doby Whiskeybottom and his brother, Larry Whiskeybottom; halfling corn farmers who enjoy passing a bottle and listening to music a bit too much for their own good; and Corvin Bootblack, a veteran of the War Against the Darkness who suffers from PTSD.
Tourism
The Raven's Nest is a frequent stop for troubadours looking to make coin on their travels as well as more well known bards and musical acts. Posters of acts from the past are plastered all over the dim interior of the tavern.
