Wild Coast

The Wild Coast is a rugged and untamed stretch of coastline on the eastern side of Teros Major, lying between the windswept heights of the Mavan Gap and the Sarran Sea. With its jagged cliffs, dense forests, and isolated coves, this remote region remains largely untouched by settlements. The harsh, unpredictable weather, combined with the dense thickets and rocky outcrops, creates a forbidding landscape that has kept even the most adventurous settlers at bay.   The coastal forests are thick with hardy, salt-resistant trees, such as the wind-bent Sirathin and tall Silverhorns, which cluster together in the gullies and lowlands where they are sheltered from the fierce winds that whip off the Sarran Sea. Underfoot, dense undergrowth of thorny vines, moss, and hardy shrubs chokes the ground, making it difficult to traverse. Along the cliffs, seabirds nest in the rocky crags, while further inland, marshes and small, fast-running streams wind through the landscape, feeding into the larger rivers that carve deep gorges into the coast as they empty into the sea.   The Wild Coast remains unsettled due to its dangerous wildlife. Chief among the predators that stalk this region are the fearsome Rhakkor, massive beasts with thick hides and terrible claws, known for their aggression and voracity. These apex predators are known to roam the deep forests and rocky cliffs, and their hunting territory includes the few open meadows and clearings scattered throughout the region. Despite their formidable presence, Rhakkor are rarely seen, but their tracks and territorial markings are a constant reminder of the lurking threat.   Other dangerous creatures also roam the coast. Wyrms, large and snake-like, are sometimes spotted slithering through the underbrush or basking on rocky outcrops during the warmer months. Though less aggressive than the Rhakkor, they are powerful predators, using their speed and stealth to ambush prey, including any who dare to traverse their territories. These creatures, while not unique to the Wild Coast, are well-suited to the thick forests and coastal cliffs, where they can move undetected by potential prey or human travelers.   The waters off the coast are equally perilous, with reports of sea serpents lurking in the deeper waters just offshore, sometimes spotted by sailors as they venture too close to the cliffs. Fisherfolk avoid the Wild Coast entirely due to the dangers both on land and in the sea, leaving the region largely unexplored and untamed.   The Wild Coast's isolation has allowed it to remain one of the most primal, dangerous regions of Teros Major, a wilderness where nature reigns supreme and only the hardiest creatures can survive. For those brave enough to traverse its treacherous cliffs and tangled forests, the Wild Coast offers an unparalleled view of the raw power and beauty of Teros, but the ever-present danger ensures it is a place few dare to linger.
