Service Areas

The “basement” of each Biosphere’s dome is full of equipment to maintain the biosphere’s environment. Most of this area is not accessible to people, but there is a Service Area near each Transport Tube with facilities for crew (who are all currently in cryostasis). Service Areas are also located in the Central Hull at the termini of the transport tubes from the biospheres. Rooms are labelled by signs with logos. (See map.) Doors open by sliding sideways with a humming sound when a button is pressed. Doors that are locked require a passkey to open. There are niches where two Skutters and a Utility Cart can park and recharge. There are also first aid kits and fire extinguishers mounted on the wall at intervals according to workplace safety standards.
