Maintenance Corridors
There is an extensive maze-like complex of maintenance corridors extending throughout the underside of the Biosphere to allow for servicing of the under-sphere equipment and infrastructure.
The doors from the Service Areas to the Maintenance Corridors are locked (Maintenance access).
Design
The walls and floors are made of a uniform light grey material, not tiled and smooth like the core of the Service Area.
There are pipes, valves, ducts, cable conduits and various bits of equipment along the corridors.
At intersections, there are signs labelling the corridors, e.g. "Β5-798E".
Smaller crawlways branch off from the corridors in some places.
