Sector Η8 - Main Engines

The Ark’s Main Engines are at the stern of the Central Hull, aimed to fire aft. They are “fusion plasma” engines. Fuel is stored in Sector Η7.
The engines only fire for a period of time (about 25 years) at the beginning and end portions of the voyage. The rest of the time the Ark is coasting.
The Main Engines are not currently functioning, which will make it impossible for the Ark to change course or stop at Tau Ceti.

Geography

The longitudinal Transport Tubes that run the length of the Central Hull end at the fore end of this sector (there is a Service Area).
There are maintenance corridors and control stations in this sector.
There is a Control Room on Level 2.
