The Engineers
The Engineers are a group of people living in the maintenance corridors on Level 5 in Sector Η8. They are descendants of some of the Ark's crew who were revived from cryostasis when the Ark's systems began to malfunction.
The Engineers' ancestors were tasked with maintaining the Ark's main engines while the automatic systems were not functioning. The original crew members passed their knowledge down through the generations so that their descendants could carry on their work.
Over centuries, the Engineers' knowledge has deteriorated and now their maintenance procedures are reduced to little more than rituals.
