Landor
The capital of the Faroo and the Majaran Empire. The city was mostly abandoned and partially ruined when Atheneis took control of it. It has been carefully rebuilt throughout Atheneis rule. While the major public buildings have been rebuilt with royal funds other properties have been granted to merchants, religious groups and settlers on the condition that they rebuild the property. The hilltop fortress of Azzera at the northern end of the roughly triangular city has been granted to the Alyite Order which maintains 1500 of its sisters in the fortresses’ barracks. Atheneis has personally restored the fortified royal palace, now known as the Majaran Palace at the western end of the city and at the southern end of the city is a fortress known as the old garrison, which is used by the Black Guard and other imperial troops. The city itself has one major North-South street, which is met at either end and at the center by an East-West street that goes to each of the cities three gates. The Eastern side of the city is covered by a long, narrow artificial lake (Lake Floret) that serves as the city’s reservoir. The city is relatively clean with sewers that removed waste water, public fountains that provide drinking water and public baths for the use of the population. The city is surrounded by a stone wall with artillery engines placed on its towers. Imperial law requires all buildings in the capital to be built of masonry with slate roofs making the city fairly fire resistant.
Demographics
The majority of the city's population is Northron human with a large Corgerian minority. The city also houses an exile community of roughly three hundred Dark Corgerians, many of them attached to Princess Peledie and her entourage. There is also a small community of roughly a hundred Danite and perhaps 200 Southron Humans. This last group is a mixture of merchants, retired Alyite Sisters and former Zalarite sisters.
Government
The Imperial Court keeps a close eye on municipal affairs. Day to day governance is managed by the Lord Mayor and an appointed city council.
Defences
The city walls enclose a roughly triangular area with a fortress at each end. Each fortress is located on a hill further strengthening their defenses.
These include the Majaran Palace which house the Imperial Guard. the Azzera Fortress which houses a garrison of Alyite Sisters and the Old Garrison which houses several hundred regular troops. The eastern side of the city is protected by a long, narrow artificial lake used as a reservoir and a dry ditch running along the other two sides.
