Big, tough and aggressive looking, Fen seems wild, but not unkempt. His voice is loud and booming, though he is actually fairly well-mannered. He has long brown hair that he typically wears in a braid and he wears a full beard. He typically wears heavy woolens and furs. He lives in the country near Landor, but frequently comes to court and is among Atheneis most loyal followers. He is prone to battle rage and often fights with a sword in one hand and battle axe in the other.

Personal history
Fen was a child of a northern hill tribe family and learned to fight and hunt from his father. In his late teens he joined a group of youths from his tribe who went south to work as mercenaries. At age 22 he joined Atheneis expedition to rescue the Crown Princess of Karmis. After the epxedition her remained in her service and fathered her only son. He has since married Sinara, a Witch form Karmis.

History
Fen is a long-time follower and occasional lover of Atheneis. Although Fen is very much in love with Atheneis, she only sees him as a long time friend that she very occasionally has the urge to sleep with. Her romantic focus is almost always on other women. She became accidentally pregnant from one of the encounters with Fen and decided to see it through resulting in her only male Child, Owen. As a result of this, many people mistakenly believe the pair are closer than they actually are. Although no one within the Royal family thinks this. Atheneis does have a great deal of trust in Fen and sees him as someone she can always rely on.
