Princess of the Empire Montara Jalissa Alborg-Majara (a.k.a. Marya)
Princess Montara (Marya) Jalissa Alborg Majara – Atheneis’ third wife and daughter of her deceased lover and sword sister Jalissa. A product of the magical Moon Pool, Montara is essentially a clone of her mother. She is a tall, strikingly beautiful warrior woman with flaming red hair. She grew up as Atheneis’s ward, but began pressing for marriage even before she came of age. She became Atheneis’ fourth wife right after she turned sixteen.
Marya is an expert forester and often presents a very rough and ready style with her hair tightly braided, wearing buckskins and a dark green cloak. She has learned how to fight with twin scimitars and a powerful short bow. Like her mother she is a holy warrior of the Alyite Order and can be expected to speak for the interests of the Order at court. Despite being raised at court, she is not fully comfortable with court life and avoids involvement in politics. She makes a point of staying friends with the other wives and sees herself as much married to them as Atheneis. She speaks in a refined manner and is well educated, but prefers hunting and exploring to more intellectual pursuits.
Marya holds Atheneis first in her affections, but has had a long running romantic relationship with Lanta and has had flings with a number of the princesses and other court women. (AO)
