Hawk’s Peak Castle

This small, mountain fortress had long fallen into ruin. It originally was the seat of the Alborg family, but after Jalissa Alborg was placed in a cursed magical sleep by the lich Yulmar it was attacked and destroyed by invading mountain tribes. In the last few years Atheneis Shandie has had the castle rebuilt as a frontier fortress.

Alterations

The walls of the castle have been rebuilt as have a hall, barracks, stables and storehouses. The barracks are meant to house roughly two hundred troops and the stables are sufficient for about 50 horses.

The castle and its buildings are made from rough cut local stone.

History

Originally constructed 600 years ago by Baron Arlos Alborg this small, but well positioned castle became the family seat of the Alborg family which ruled the valley below. Roughly 200 years ago the castle was captured and destroyed when the Baroness Jalissa Alborg was imprisoned by Yulimar. The castle remained an inhabited ruin for more than 200 years. During the last few years the castle has been rebuilt under Order of Atheneis Shandie Majara, Grand Constable of the Empire. Officially the castle is again the seat of the Alborg Family with Princess Montara taking the title of Baroness of Hawk's Peak. In reality she has little love for the isolated and cold fortress and only occasionally goes there.
