Annannara and Starkands’s son. He is a tall young man in his late teens with dark blond hair and blue eyes. He is an excellent horseman and a skilled archer. His preferred weapon is the longbow. He typically wears a mail coat and carries a bastard sword for close quarters fighting. He is close friends with Prince Owen, his cousin.

Arrand's early life was split between his mother's hall, Morja Annannara and the Imperial Palace in Landor. He was educated at the Palace school and learned swordsmanship from Lady Klonna and his father. As is typical of warriors of his generation from royal clan he was trained as an officer in the Imperial Guard but had not been assigned to a specific unit, instead he performs detached duties as needed.

Throughout his childhood Allena acted more like a second mother to her half-brother rather than a sibling. The fact that Allena was a spitting image of her mother added further weight to this dynamic. As reached adulthood his sisters maternal behavior began to cause some resentment in Arrand.
