River Nightfall

The River Nightfall is the dividing line between Eastern and Western Revellia. Within the Fiirwood, it dives into deep gorges, but to the north it grows shallow and feeds several settlements. Saolmoth, the "Gateway between East and West," home of the Three Great Walls, sits at the River's end. Near the middle of the Nightfall's western banks, nestled within the Fiirwood itself, is the cursed castle of Malbrand.
Far enough from the cultural center of Revelback and its powerful neighbors of Berleigh, Swining, and Aerwoth, the Nightfall is considered by many to be a dangerous, mysterious place, the gateway to the realms of deep magic. Many easterners believe the ancient Revali, a clan of the Aernigh that dwelt by rivers, still live along the deepest reaches of the Nightfall, stealing children and killing (and eating) unwary travelers.
Though it stands between the Noddlands of the West and the Ithir Plains of the East, the Nightfall is generally considered property of the West.
