Revali

Living by the rivers and shores of Milos, it is believed the term “Revali” is not even what these folk called themselves, but rather a corruption of “Rivermen,” “Riveri,” or some other reference to the rivers where they lived. They were believed to have webbed fingers and toes (only four of each), moss instead of hair, and elongated canines. It was said that, on foggy nights, lone men might see a Revali in the freezing river and mistake it for a bathing maiden, much to his short-lived regret.   It is believed the Revali mastered large river wyrms called behirin, which in the ancient days they would ride into battle against the Orrish settlers.   While most myths depict the Revali as isolated and reclusive creatures, the End of the Aernigh describes a great mounted army led by a Revali king, including even a smattering of folk from other Aernigh clans. Some legends say King Baarach of Beth slew their king and built his city on their corpses, others say he wed a Revali princess and unified the two clans (with the Revali vanishing into the Beth bloodline, presumably).
