Average Technological Level
They are in the Engineering Age, but on the cusp of the Technologic Age. Their society is a dynamic one, constantly on the move, learning and creating more each year.
Some discoveries that they have made are: sun stones, staff gliders, hang gliders, airplanes, wing-suits, silver oriculum tattoos, gyro-copters, flying ships, orni-thopters, dirigibles.
They use steam, sun stones, magic, clockwork and/or a combination of them to power their technology. To some it appears to be just magic, but they have learned to merge them.

Common Etiquette Rules
Common Dress Code
Style of dress in the Skylands depends on the individual and their job. Most common pieces include: tailcoats, lederhosen (shorts held up with suspenders), bundhosen (short pants held up with suspenders, shirts, vests, dress or skirt or apron; and of course utility belts or harnesses. Many combinations are possible. They also love almost any style of hat, (flyers love helmets) and safety glasses or goggles.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
There are Houses dedicated to almost any type of Science or Magic theory that someone has thought up. After a primary school is finished children are expected to choose one or a few of these Houses to dedicate their secondary learning to. When they finish this learning and ascend to Journeyman, they can become a resident worker that allies themselves to a House or form their own.
Duels are common, but usually non-lethal means are used, like their creations dueling each other; boxing or wrestling matches, etc. Sometimes sabotage of inventions is included in this dueling, but it is frowned upon by most others.
