Basic Information

Biological Traits

Tree Gnomes don't appear much different than their predecessors. The main difference is their link to the forest and her animals. They can make a link to a specific tree like a dryad. With this link, when touched, a magical hollow opens up into a pocket dimension linked to the gnome through his tree. Some older gnomes can tough any tree to enter his home.

Those linked to one type of tree are usually attracted to others of the same type.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Most are vegetarian, but a few eat meat (only non-sentient), commonly fish.

Biological Cycle

Some tree gnomes hair changes color with the seasons depending on the type of tree it is bonded to. As they age, their skin and hair start to look like their tree.

Social Structure

Tree Gnomes are very individualistic, they often live alone or in small family groups. Although they constantly visit each other and use any excuse to have a party.

The closest person to a leader they have is the oldest Elder or Shaman.

Facial characteristics

They have sharp angular faces wit deep-set eyes. Long, hooked noses, pointy ears, bushy eyebrows and long beards.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Tree Gnomes live in the large northern forests of Sylvania, because of the link to their tree, few travel beyond the borders of their homeland. If one does travel, they need to return twice a year to commune with their tree.

Their names are similar to Old German and surrounding areas. But their last names usually have something to do with their tree home, the nature around it or animal friends.

Mos of their Tech is based on nature magic, sometimes also steam or clockwork. They are a little below the Industrial Age, and are a Developing culture. They have little access to metal, so need to magically harden wood or stone.

They like wearing German-like clothing: shirts, vests, shorts, pants, dresses or combinations. Many Tree Gnomes have taken to wearing clothes of natural coloring, but still in the German styles.

History

During the Chaos Wars, a group of Gnomes was searching for a new village site. As the were sleeping, a mist settled over the camp. They woke up to find that they had changed.

Their senses were keener and some could talk to plants, while others could with animals. And they seemed accepted and at peace.

They are closest to Sky Gnomes and Fey, but are friendly with all good-aligned races.
