Session 10

by Amir (Emir)

O.k. before I start explaining things I have some comments and observations to make. First, spirits are weird and not certain I will understand them ever. Second, when a not bad one is in a person they are overly active and talk as constant as waves on a beach. Third, Jana needs to never be possessed again as then no one listens to her and I have to tell people what to do. That is too weird as everyone else seems to have completed their training and/or academics but wait doing nothing until told, like when I did. Fourth, Cynica really needs to learn not fire magic, the efreet hate him from something in a past life or action when he was younger.

So in the morning after breakfast we move and travel through the day and eventually finish exploring the area around the road. I was hoping we could find someone that would help us with knowledge about these bandits or people in the area. As people were practicing for a short bit and talking, Cami was constantly stalking people and trying to surprise everyone. I think it got on Rhytlock’s nerves he looked more scowling old elf than normal. We agree it is not worth discussing bandits until we know more and know what is around better.

As we travel the rude Aliwa is out scouting and lets us know there is a weird thing in front. There is a parade of a chicken, rabbit, wild boar, rabbit, and a chipmunk. I try to ask them a question but they do not answer or even acknowledge that I am there. Then Rhytlock looks at them says they are possessed by not good spirits. To protect myself and Sagir I distance myself from them and ask The Brothers for safety and protection. When I finish my prayers I look up and see John with a possessed dancing chipmunk in his hand. This is a sign I should stay my distance from him for at least a day just to be cautious. After that I notice him and Cami are starting to talk more and get close. Maybe the spirits love each other or like each other and want their bodies to be the same. At the same time I decide to ask Cynica if he is willing to trade how he summons the power of the Djinn to fly and I will teach him how to better focus his magic and channeling their powers. So I start to explain some of the way how to do it properly and Nual’sha also is listening to what I say with interest.

That evening I get to have the start of a calm night watch with Sagir. I go to write a short set of letters to people then get Yondali to send them to people. Then I go to sleep and start to have a nice dream about me and my good friend. Then I start to get told a secret and instead I wake as I hear Cynica saying how he messed up his spell. So I get up and get Sagir to be ready to bolt once free and safe area. At the same time I start to call up the energy to smother the fire with dirt like I know I need to when Ignacio calls on the efreet at night. Once we put out the fire I directly explain to Ignacio his mistake. He needs to never call on efreet for protection when the sun is out. I ask him if he ever thought of using powers of another group of Janni instead.

The next morning, I offer to scout since The Rude Aliwa is tired from flying so much recently. I guess that proves that the wind is kinder and easier on Aros than Aliwa, less effort and strain to fly without wings. While out I don’t see anything until the end as I am looping back to the group. Cynica looks like he got lost and is about a ¼ mile from the group who has not moved at all. They are slow in wanting to deal with bandits now that Cami is possessed. As I get closer it looks like Cynica burned a small portion of the snake with a spell and it really bit him badly. I rush over and have to be rude to the snake and quickly use magic to heal him. Once I get him to be safe from dying I walk him back to the camp. Possessed Cami then heals his wounds. All this happened because Nual’sha needed a lizard and sent Cynica to find him one. I just do not want to interact at the time with everyone and need some peace. So I decide to take Sagir to practice her hunting skills with me and let her get some fresh meat. As Nual’sha is going to use a chipmunk to help him free Cami of the possession. I think this shaman thing is interesting but not certain how the chipmunk helps things. I do at least get the chipmunk to agree to help for some food and to not be held so tightly.

When I get back the group’s feeling is completely different. Everyone is trying to stay away from Jana. Jana is threatening to kill something that is not there and shoots about 40 arrows into the plains. She then is having a weird violent reaction and claims of deadly violence just as I thought of offering comfort. Then I got confused and flustered as I did not know what to do. I just stood and stared at everything. After that Jana passes out. When she wakes up Rhytlock and Cami are really weird in actions. They are nice and polite to each other and even make food for each other. Cami then became weirdly determined to get us back on course.

She had me and Rude Aliwa go fly out and scout the bandits outpost. The place is a bit violent in greeting, but we were o.k. and able to determine where buildings are. The group also discusses how to best deal with bandits. I explain if really bad I have a spell that just summons the whims of magic to create effects.
