So, these people wish to waste time now on secondary issues. They first want to argue over how best to kill goblins who did not cause us physical pain and injury. The only reasons they claim are because they are goblins, because they kill, because they kill animals, because they harm trees. I point out they all have killed people, eaten animals, and they all have harmed trees by making fire. While I mention this I just teleport large amounts of dirty over the fire that is burning so it will not cause a forest fire. I also mention that paid and trained soldiers and guards are here to deal with problems like this. But Zahra sighs and mentions I am different and problemed. Catalina orders me to get the guards. While I break down my camp portion she then berates and belittles the choice of getting people who are trained in this matter to handle this matter. When I go north to the city they decide to travel south, only Catalina promises to shed no blood in a sarcastic tone to me.
Why am I stuck with violent and bloodlusting people? I mean why is violence and bloodletting the first thing they always go to. When you speak different they berate and call you problemed. The problem is they will not listen and so not worth trying to explain with them. Maybe the magistrates in their desks in Perago will help to change things with them.
My trip to the town is not worth much for this need and problem. The town is really active, and no one speaks anything but Lunge, almost. I go to look to see if Finn is awake and he is not. I try to talk to a townsmen and guards that speak a useful language for me. Then told by one rudely to leave and not bother him.
When I get back to explain only Catalina is awake. I start to explain to her what the guard says, and Zahra wakes and decides to interrupt my tale. She and Catalina also state that everyone else needs to be awake to hear this. Then, Catalina rudely wakes up Shirin who sounds like she is yelling and threatening me in her sleep. Only she quickly apologizes to me that the man’s name is Omar not Amir. Zahra and Shirin decide to head directly to Finley’s Stop. This means they obviously think I lie over truth.
Zahra and Shirin return to camp about 3 hours later. Shirin is annoyed the small hamlet is a small hamlet. Zahra mentions the bandits no longer plan to keep their deal with the group. Everyone seems amazed they will not keep their word since the Lordsman is now dead and they got what they wanted. This is one reason why I was against agreements to kill the noble. I have better manners than to point this truth out to them. Violence will only lead to violence and death brings death and curses on the winds or worse no winds ever. Though to fix her mistake Zahra decides to recast some scrying spell to see if her first one is true. Makes me wonder why she would not want to go there first and discuss meeting over death for this meeting. While she casts the spell I use my own magic to make certain she is not being tracked or viewed on by another caster as well. Since, nothing is seen no point in speaking up.
Zahra then points out where we should go, and it is about a 3-day walk. At the end of the first day Catalina decides to slaughter an innocent creature. Nasrin then places it in some stew and finally someone realizes how badly ethnocentric and egocentric these people are. I am amazed the person that started this conversation is Raz. For that Zahra, Catalina, Shirin, Nasrin, and I made a deal to stop to clear up the communication. The deal was sealed in salt with me giving them salt and them accepting and using it.
As we get about 3 hours walk from the bandit camp, we can spot Yondali sitting under a dead tree cooking a soup. She treats it as nothing to have a person work to help and participate in causing death. She killed a tree to send some group to Perago. She claims that we are to eat her soup and be a part of her death ritual. These people realize at least that this will mean killing her chicken now, letting it die trapped in the cage she she is carried in, or gift her to the bandits. As they argue about it I get Zahra to write a letter and just go take the chicken and letter explaining things to the bandits. This way the chicken will be able to survive and live out its life.
When I get back I begrudgingly have to participate in this death ritual. For once, some of these people see the error of death dealing and feel sorry and sad for causing it. Maybe there is hope for them. To know when the last moment is that I have to eat a spoon pool of death laced soup I again cast my detection spell. The next thing I know is blackness and a foul wind blow across me. Only to be in a room similar to where I first met the bureaucrat death goddess. As I come to mind my body does the proper reaction and violently remove the corrupted soup. All this time Yondali is talking about how she needs time and we should go do things in a city. I just mention I need time and head to the door with Sagir to head back home and start working on making a welcoming space for travelers that need a friendly and homely stop. Hopefully I will be able to know if my letter was sent and received with a response, and if I will be able to see my friend before I am forced to leave again.
