This group that attacked us is just a group of Kobolds. We fight them and see that their bodies come back to life as undead creatures. I decide instead to take off heads to try and prevent them from coming back to life. As I do, I yell to Rytlock to eat the necromancer in the hole, which he did literally. Right as the fight ends Olyssa is struck in the stomach and goes down. Making me quickly start casting a healing spell over her so she lives and then look for others. As I do Olyssa lives but falls unconscious, along with Cynica and some dwarf that showed up and was firing arrows at the kobolds. I do hope the dwarf knows that the kobolds over all are friendly and it is just these few that mean us harm, as they worship Amorta.
After the fighting is over there is a small sensor in the air that Nual’sha and I notice. He works to destroy it as I work to build up the energy to disrupt the magic. As we work to remove it, everyone seems to age slightly but me as I resist the magic coming from it. Nual’sha also ignores almost all the magic but at the wave’s crash he ends up being taken by the curse coming from it ever so slightly. He then afterwards changes to a bird and starts to circle looking for the caster while I tend to cutting-up the bodies. I remove the heads from all the kobolds and put their heads on spikes and looking into the whole. I also work to remove the rest of the bones and pour salt over them.
As I finish putting the last head on a spike then other kobolds start to appear at the base, where Tenfin died a cursed corrupted soul’s death. I stop them and directly ask you mean to be peaceful and give up this poor choice of faith or you plan to die and stay like Tenfin and her 11 followers. They decide to not fight and agree to go back to worshipping their original deity. Then while I wait for Nual’sha to get Mikmak I get 2 of these kobolds to help me build a bonfire and start it. When trying to help them get to know where they should go, I have the kobolds pick their new leader. The leader receives the map to the location and the rules. This new group gets to stay in a certain ruined town and if a kobold leaves more than about a 1000-yards from it in all directions the kobold’s life if forfeit. Since I killed so many the new chief calls me Death, so he picks the name Deathspeaker and leads his group off in shame after Chief Moke lays shame on them all.
The next day Mikmak and Chief Moke ask to speak with us. We are given direct praise by Chief Moke, which we are informed is a great honor. We are asked what we want for a gift for helping to stop the family stress and fight. In exchange I just ask for some food but Chief Moke wants to give us more and Nual’sha wanted more than I asked for. Chief Moke gave us a small statue of Wicked Tail which Nual’sha keeps (as I know he is a secret follower of this deity), and I asked for rations. Nual’sha wanted food and a way to create trade to increase economic ties to our cities and also make it so we are friendlier to each other. We set up a system of how to determine if a group comes by and means to trade peacefully.
We then head back to Duran’s and get there just in perfect time. Right as we get there the winds bring in a bad storm and we stay inside of Duran’s Inn. The outpost seems to be doing a bit more trade and money, requiring Duran to keep some armed guards to walk around his walls. Nual’sha and I discuss how for Duran and others to trade with the kobolds. They can trade food for weapons from Duran’s. Duran and we agree only him, and his people will know about this trade deal, so he gets priority on items. Over the next 3 days, I then teach Duran and afew others Kobold Sign Language (KSL) so they can communicate while I also practice some on my tumbling skills and get back into shape; I don’t want to look bad for my Preemah. During this time, I also go to see my friend Servius, this way he gets a good meal some nights and will not be too lonely.
After we get our things we head towards Greenwood, but also to help Nual’sha and prove I might be good at something we detour on the way. On the night before we reach the Circle of No there is a group of people that are walking towards our campsite. They seem to be looking our place over but have no weapons out. I know it’s cold, so I offer the three people a seat by one of our fires and some food. The group is made up of a Luminos, Terros, and a Dwarf. For some reason not many of them are very talkative and mention they are night walkers. Though why a group of prostitutes are walking this far out of a city I am not certain, but I guess each person has their own journey and they are likely just trying to find a home and family, or get back to their home and family. After they eat, then they just go on and leave.
At the Circle of No all the things went wrong. After I get to the edge I poke at its borders and feel the magical energy move and ripple slightly as spirits move towards me. I take a strong breath in and walk towards the middle of the circle while Nual’sha calls out the guardian spirit and has his attention. As I walk to the middle of the circle 4 spirits come and try to control my body and mind. I can fight off 3 of the 4 but the last one takes partial control of me at the same time that Nual’sha starts to have his hands ignite on fire from magical energies.
The only way to be able to try and be a wizard is to agree with this spirit of violence. I agree that I will agree to fight a person who has wronged me if I rule an area. In trade the spirit lets me work to prove my sorcery skills are good enough to be a wizard. I am successful and instantly regret doing it. This proves that me looking for power, even if to give a good reason for teaching, is a bad idea and I should not have it or nice things still. In the last moment of my ritual I plead to magic to please save me and free me from this spirit. As it does a unicorn appears right beside me as well Nual’sha asked for my sword and I hand it to him as well.
