Sea of Sabres
Sabres, Sailing Caravans and Sea rovers
The Sea of Sabres also known as The Corsair's Sea is one of the larger seas of Naghron, separating the nothern coast of Orogan from the continents southern half of Vurai and Kloroa.
Geography
The sea stretched from the southern coastline of the Island of Orogan to the northern coastline of Vurai and narrowing from Talonto in the west to the east where it met the Thrakiot Archipelago forming its eastern border.
Climate
The Sea of Sabres is heated by strong warming currents. These keep it noticeably warm north of Duryad and in the eastern end, but north-northwest, the sea cool the land of Nympharum and breezes off the sea provided cooler nights in Dralio.
Deadly winter storms hurtled north into Orogan, such as into the costal plains around Takatbar. Such storms are caused when warm humid air from over the ocean is blown onto the land and up the sides of the coastal mountain ranges, leading to frequent, furious thunderstorms.
Fauna & Flora
Dolphins were found in the Sea of Sabres. When a major storm came west, they sought shelter in the Crimson Gulf in Nympharum .
History
This body of water was so named for three reasons, for the rampant pirate acctivity along the shore of the Sea, attacking and raiding the coastal cities of Taktabar, Denok, and Mekisr Altiui, the near constant patrolles by warships to ensure safe travel for traders and pilgrims, and the heavy shipping activity fueled by long-distance trade.
