Z'ar Rilark
Z'ar Rilark (Roughly translated as New-Castle)
also known as Djerad Maccal and Krak Bandar, is a bustling port city in Thrakos located on the western coast of the Great Drown. Along with Qurthi at the eastern coast of Thrakos, Z'ar Rilark was home to much of the realm's great wealthy and old guard of noble families.
As a key port of trade for Duryad, is the main imperial stronghold on the east side of the Durish Crown Dominion of Thrakos, lying east of Qurthi and Niarhular, and northeast of Ternosear. It houses and trains the majority of the Duryadi Northern army, the Qysadashqar , and as a garrison town also employs a large number of zelaous Qyzhansaries
Demographics
Upon the founding of Z'ar Rilark and the end of the Shamyrate of Thrakos, it had a sizable population of 23,192 souls. It consisted of the native dragonborn and the human vagrants from the north. Over the years, the human population grew as the city attracted more people, now being fairly diverse as a trade hub. While, humans and dragonborn still are the most common races inhabiting the city, there are members of almost any other race found somewhere amongst the large crowds. Kobolds and Dratuga are especially well represented, closely followed by Genasi and Hobgoblins
Defences
Z'ar Rilark serves as the northernmost naval base for the Qysanallojal, Duryad's imperial navy. The ships docked here are the smallest and fastest in the fleet, designed for scouting and anti-piracy purposes. In 257 AC, the navy was growing so quickly that fishermen were being forced to find new docks.
Z'ar Rilark supports a city guard of 2,000 soldiers. Additional forces include 3,000 Maccal clanhold warriors, 500 cavalry, and an imperial palace guard of 200 ogres. Z'ar Rilark's navy include 20 ships with 400 highly trained marines specializing in ship combat. Most of Z'ar Rilark's naval vessels are smaller ships meant for shore patrol.
