The City of Shanties
Ternosear, (Duryadi Draconic: ternock : "scale" and osear "horn" so together, its toughly translated as Scale-Horn) nicknamed the City of Shanties, is a bustling military-trade city on the southern coast of Thrakos with a long and storied history.
It also lay nearest to powerful the cities of Z'ar Rilark and Merdun, which, together with the presence of several Qyzhssary units, gave the larger city enormous influence on Ternosear's politics. The large military and bustelung maritime economy led to the titles "City of Swords" and "City of Shanties", but it was also called Ternosear the Red and The Garnet City, because the citizens enjoyed wearing clothing in various shades of crimson
With a population of around 35,000 people and a location pivotal for the movement of goods across Naghron, Ternosear is a bustling coastal town of most trades and intellectual pursuits. Built on the banks of River Niarhaanin, near the base of the great Graydagger Mountains, the city is easy to spot from quite a distance, especsially along the seaway. Among the aged cobblestones and very busy roadways, the sounds of music from vagrant bards and nearby taverns mingles with the nearly ever-present winds.
Demographics
Ternosear is a large town with a population of 35,000. Many races are represented among its citizens, including Humans (40%), Dragonborn (30%), goblinoids (mainly Hobgoblins ) (12%), Half-orc (4%), Dratuga (3%) Gnolls (1%), and other races (10%). There is also a "constantly shifting clientele" of sailors and merchants.
Government
The Garnet City is governed by the Yshah of Ternosear alongside a small, seven-person city council, called the Shield Council, whose members were the leaders of the local merchant families and clans. All municipal employees and council members serve at the pleasure of the Yshah. As of the year 32 PC The Yshah of Ternosear is General Labak Yhl-Thaersibar. Labak is very popular both with the general populace of Ternosear and with the Satrap of Z'ar Rilark. This is in part because he worked tirelessly to protect the city from pirates and Fiergian threats. The Yshah signs or vetoes policies suggested by the Shield Council--this group of public servants that drafts and passes legislation along. The Yshah signs and enforces these laws in most circumstances.

Defences
As of the early- 1st century PC, the town can rally together a well-armed militia of fifty rapidly and three hundred in a day. With seven ships guarding the harbour the ports of Ternosear was free of pirates,
A city/regional guard called the Shields of the Shores (or just "Shields" for short) keeps the peace in the city and its environs, and all arrests and social unrest are immediately brought before the Hall of Reason, a "beautiful courthouse in the Modern Duryadi Style".
Industry & Trade
Due to its unique location, on the southern coast of Thrakos,on a major road near the crossing of river, Ternosear enjoying a thriving fishing community. An abundance of locally-caught crab, eel and other types of seafood, helped the industry thrive.
Ternosear was an important way stop for caravans and traders traveling between the Duryadi town of Merdun , and the great Crime metropolis of Mekisr Altiui. As such, many of its business catered to caravaneers, merchants and other Duryadi that regularly traveled the trade-routes of Duryad
Ternosear was home to a number of guides, all of whom were knowledgeable about destinations anywhere in Duryad and Fionmagh. While they offered their services for a few mere gold pieces, excluding the cost of food, they required a deposit that covered over a week's time
History
Founding
In 398 AC, Kadar el Thaersibar, an ambitious duryad noble, led a group of immigrants from Takatbar and Ghazinbuhl to the Thrakiot archipeligo and founded the the Thrakiot Shamyhrate in what was formerly the Fionmagh territory of Glerrrige. Ternosear, along with Port Bosudyan and Niarulhar, was established as fishing villages, trading outposts and were the northernmost settlements in the Qyzharate of Duryad.The Thrakiot Amyhrate lasted until 231 AC when the Fionmagh military laid siege to the city, killing 20% of the population, including the ruling house and captured Ternosear. The Fionmagh Armada was eventually defeated and in 225 AC, Duryad conquered the emirate and added it to its territory once more.Points of interest

- The Rotten Tub: The longstanding inn that lacked quite a bit in the way of luxury and convenience.
- Razorback Inn: The inn preferred by sellswords and adventurers, a tavern that was owned by the semi-retired pirate Corwyn Jaffe, that served his smuggling enterprise quite well. It also doubled as a secret meeting place for The Order of the Archive.
- The Black Blade & Bloody Boot: A tavern that was popular among caravaneers
- The Sailor's Delight: The inn that catered to craftsmen and business people alike.
- The House of the Iron Rose: A boarding house, exclusive to officers and the well-to-do; top quality, high prices

Temples, Mosques, Shrines & Religious Sites
- House of the Seasmoke and the North Wind: The main temple in the city dedicated to Shiera Stormsong and Bahamut, , but there were also shrines to Erathis, Ioun, Kord and Melora. Overseen by the devout follower Havelock Naarjun. This glorious spired temple serves the Ternoshi faithful, known to be a place of wisdom and peace.
Shops, Markets & Businesses
- The Tattered Scabbard: a small shop and smithy north of the town square, famous for its fine merchandise that included imperial weaponry, It is run by Derval Durn, Royal Armorer of Citadel Brineward.
- Cleon's Cauldron of Captivating Curiosities: A shop near the Marcet square that stocked all sorts of arcane supplies, from spell components to magical items.
- High Seas Imperial Shipyard: One of the most profitable trading businesses in the entire city

- The Armory: located at the edge of the Market Square.
- Market Square: a bustling marketplace located at the edge of the harbor and featuring knucklehead trout, crowncrab, eel, sahuagin meat, and handicrafts.
- Town hall: located a block from the Market Square.
- Midnight Ink Library: A grand dome of blue, polished stone, the Midnight Ink Library is a well-fortified library organized. The library is run and controlled by the monks of The Order of the Archive, worshipers of the knowledge godess who gather and retain information and knowledge. The Library's collection of knowledge is so vast that individuals travel from all over the world to study here. A monk is assigned to every person that seeks entry, both as a guide and as a security escort.
Fortifications, Garrisons & Defenses
- The Crimson Prince of Ternosear: is a massive statue of granite and bronze in the image of the late Crown Prince Huryan Salicar Ybn Bhalaur Yhl-Duhryadh. It acts as as a fortress and lighthouse guarding the entrance into the lagoon where the city is located. When seen from the sea for the first time, the Prince is a terrifying sight. It was commissioned by Qyzharah Haylymah Asherah yrb Bhalaur Yhl-Duhryadh some time after the Prince's funeral to be displayed in Ternosear, where it stands as a symbol of vengance, honour and sacrifice. The statue's head houses a great stone horn and an magical ranged incendiary device that could release a colossal jet of fire, this flame can turn flesh to ash, melt steel, and burn a ship down to the keel.

Geography
Ternosear is located at a point on the sourthern coast of Island of Thrakos, within the inlet of the Bay of Broken Blades. The stunning monument known as The Crimson Prince, also known as the red beast of Ternosear, a stone fortress in the image of the late Crown Prince Huryan Salicar Ybn Bhalaur Yhl-Duhryadh The Prince roars every dawn, and every sunset, and appears to roar when a ship is approaching as well. His roar can be heard across the city, faint, but capable of waking the sleeping city.
